The Courtyard
It’s new; it’s trendy: it’s - The Courtyard,
located on the outside area surrounding the
fountain at Buitenverwachting, the gentle sound
of water, the natural beauty of the charming
gardens all add to the pleasure of this new
eatery where one can spend hours enjoying the
company of friends and partaking of wines made
on this outstanding Constantia Estate.

There is a light luncheon menu
available and from 3 p.m. Tapas will be served
on boards designed by Edgar especially for this
new eatery. Daily selections are displayed on a
blackboard from which choices can be made in
sets of:
3 Courses for R99
5 Courses for R129 or
7 Courses for R159
Tapas will not be served singly although if you
wish to add a sweet Tapas to one of the
selections you have made, it won't be a
problem...
To add to your pleasure High Tea will be served
between 3 and 5.30 p.m. at R140 per adult and
R70 per child. Guests can help themselves to the
most delicious spread of savoury and sweet
temptations imaginable. |
Buitenverwachting Restaurant
The décor in this very special restaurant is
superb with the most comfortable seating you
could wish for!
The dinner menu is a 3, 4 or 5 course menu from
which you can choose any dish ấ la carte and
make up your own delicious selection for the
meal.
In addition to this selection, there is a menu
containing Edgar’s Classics – these are dishes
for which his fame has spread far and wide ...
gourmet flavours such as his Pan-fried
Madagascan Wild Prawns with Bagna Cauda,
Avocado, Daikon, Cucumber and Spring Onion,
pictured here, is mouth-wateringly delicious.
Another one of Edgar’s creations is the
deconstructed Caesar Salad served with white
Anchovies, Parmesan Foam, poached Quail Eggs and
seared Norwegian Salmon perfect for Cape Town’s
hot summer days.
The dessert selection could only be created by
an Austrian maestro in the kitchen ... words
fail your scribe, you will just have to try them
for yourselves ...

Lovely grassy, green pepper notes which carry
through to the palate with a crisp acidity and a

Winzer Platters will be available at the
Cellar Door as from Thursday 17th December 2009
these will only be available to guests whilst
wine tasting from 12h00 to 17h00.
They are great value at R75 per wooden board
which is made up of cheeses, cold cuts (kudu/schwarzwald
bacon, salami, pickles, grapes, nuts and
landbrot; served with Rye Bread.
Divine is the only word to describe these
delightful ‘platters’. |

Picnics
Picnic Baskets are served at Tables under the
Oaks on the lawns from 12h00 to 16h00 daily
except on Sundays and Public Holidays. There
will also not be Picnics over Christmas and the
New Year.
Picnics are yummy and made up of Snoek Pâté,
Vegetarian Quiche, Black Forest Ham, Meatballs
and Chicken Roll. A selection of cheeses, nuts
and fresh salads served with Breads and
Biscuits, Tea and Coffee together with Desserts
complete your delicious meal in the open air.
Buitenverwachting Wines and soft drinks are for
sale.
